4/3/03

Recently, all Property Owners who are connecting to the sewer received information regarding their upcoming sewer connection responsibilities.  This mailing by the Town contains both technical information and the scheduling requirements.  We now understand from phone calls received that the lacking element for the success of this project is not with the Town nor the homeowner, but the homeowner’s inability to engage interested contractors to perform the necessary work in the needed timeframe.

To that end and to insure that this work can and will be done in a timely manner, the Town is scheduling a Forum for Prospective Contractors.  We are, at this point, making those contacts on your behalf to those contractors expressing new interest and the goal is to provide them with the information necessary to provide this needed service.  For those owners who have already engaged a contractor, we urge you to ask them to attend and use this opportunity to get answers on questions they have yet to ask, as in permitting, inspections and licensing requirements.

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! The schedule, as prepared by Metcalf & Eddy, delineates the work that must occur over the next 14 months…and your connection date MUST BE met.  The success and final cost of the project is dependent on our meeting this schedule.

The Town is responding to your concerns by hosting this Forum and providing this information to interested contractors who will be working for you. We are committed to the success of the Homeowner Connection Program.
