Preliminary Motion 1.  Elizabeth Steele-Jeffers moved that the Town vote to waive the reading of the warrant.

Motion Carried.

 

Preliminary Motion 2. Elizabeth Steele-Jeffers moved that the Town vote to grant permission to speak at the January 5, 2000 Special Town Meeting to the following persons who are not registered voters of the Town of Provincetown: E. Winn Davis, Assistant Town Manager; David J. Ditacchio, Marine Superintendent; Anthony Jackett, Shellfish Constable; John W. Giorgio, Esq., of the firm of Kopelman & Paige, P.C., Town Counsel; Michelle Jarusiewicz, Grant Administrator; Gordon Peabody, former chairman of the Conservation Commission; Craig King and Paul Sisson of the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency; Don Harvie and David Anderson of the engineering firm of Fay, Spofford & Thorndike; and the following members of the Provincetown fishing fleet: Brian Crouteau, Gene Fortier, Tony Lemme, Paul McGrath, Phil Michaud, Bernard Nunes, Kurt Schmidt, and William Sousa; and  Heather Bruce, Save Our Shores,  non-voting property owner & seasonal resident; Patricia Zur, concerned citizen, year-round Provincetown renter.

Motion Carried.

 

Article 1. MacMillan Pier Reconstruction: Delete Floating Dock System for Small Boat Fisheries, Wave Barrier/Floating Wave Attenuator.

See if the Town will vote as follows: Whereas, at Town Meeting in April 1999, Provincetown voters agreed to reconstruct MacMillan Pier; Whereas, Town meeting voters should have the opportunity to assess, discuss and approve all additions and reconfigurations of the design as it differs from the current existing pier and original T section; Therefore, I MOVE that the Town vote to rebuild MacMillan Pier without the following additions: no additional floating docks or finger piers other than those that already exist and no wave barrier floating or otherwise.
