Prayer For The Day of Prayer and Remembrance For The Victims of The September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks.

Friday, September 14, 2001 @ Noon, Provincetown Town Hall, Provincetown, MA.

Prayer:

Dear Friends,  In the sacred silence of this hour, in the presence of God,  let us unite our hearts and minds in prayer.

Please join hands in unity.

Dear God, of all life hear our prayer.  Fill us with your divine love and strength as we gather today in solemn community sadly mourning the tragic loss of innocent lives.

Oh, Dear God for as long as we shall live, they to shall live, for they are now a part of us - woven into the very fiber of our being.  We shall remember them in the days, weeks, months, and years that lie ahead.  For now, we are their voices, their hearts, their hands.  We ask that you guide our thoughts and deeds with love, compassion and wisdom, for we are traveling an unknown road in the dawn of difficult tomorrows.

God of all life, hold tenderly and nurture the spirits of those who mourn the death of loved ones - hear their prayers.

Grant courage, hope and strengths to the thousands of volunteers, who are struggling to find life, within the mountains of twisted metal, and hope to their families and friends, who anxiously await their safe return.

Spirit of life,  hear our cries, our hearts have been deeply wounded, grant us your love and light, grant our nation,  and world leaders - wisdom, understanding and patience - to guide our world to wholeness and peace.

Dear God, as we end this time together, let us be ever mindful of the gifts that come through you, that faith can move mountains and that love and compassion shared with all life will bring peace.

May this be so.    Amen
