Remarks from Craig Wiegand
Commander of the Lewis A.
Young Post # 3152
I would like to thank each of you for attending this Day of Remembrance and Prayer. My name is Craig Wiegand, Commander of the Lewis A. Young Post # 3152 in Provincetown. Here with me is Carl Sawyer, Commander of the American Legion Post # 71, also of Provincetown.
First
on behalf of our members, I want to extend our support, our thoughts and our
prayers to the family and friends of all who were touched by this assault
on our great nation.
Our
President has indicated that there will be a prolonged and sustained response
against the perpetrators of this horrendous tragedy, and this will undoubtedly
involve our brothers and sisters who are in the military service of our great
country. Please join me in standing with our President, with our military
personnel and with all of our citizens. They need and deserve our prayers
and support, and as one nation under god, they shall not stand alone.
May
God bless the United States of America
