2007 Annual Spring Traffic Hearing Results

The Provincetown Board of Selectmen conducted the 2007 Annual Spring Traffic Hearing on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 and approved the following parking and traffic proposals:

 

1.  Citizen Proposals

a.      Paint “No Parking” at 358 Commercial Street driveway.

b.      Install new street sign “West Franklin Street”.

c.      Install Permanent Handicapped Space.

 

2.  Town Department Proposals

a.      Allow two full-time out-of-town Library employees to purchase a town resident sticker at the town resident rate.

b.      Create second handicapped parking space on Center Street next to Library.

c.      Create one (1) additional handicapped parking space by using town owned land at the beginning of Commercial Street.

d.      Create one (1) handicapped parking space closer to the intersection of Howland and Commercial Streets.

e.      Create one (1) handicapped parking space in the vicinity of 460-462 Commercial Street.

f.        Create one (1) handicap spot directly abutting the west side of the protruding sidewalk in front of the post office.

g.      Create a handicap space near the double gate entrance to the playing field on Winslow Street.

 

3.  Parking Department Proposals

a.      Clarify and update wording of Section 6-2-1 of Parking Regulations.

b.      Clarify and update wording of Section 6-2-3 of Parking Regulations.

c.      Clarify and update wording of Section 6-4-1 of Parking Regulations.

d.      Parking Regulations – Article 4 – Special Permits – ADD – Section 6-4-3Nonresident Town Board & Committee Members.  Note: This provision DOES NOT apply to out of state registrations.
