2004 Annual Spring Traffic Hearing Results

The Provincetown Board of Selectmen conducted the 2004 Annual Spring Traffic Hearing on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 and approved the following parking and traffic proposals:

 

1.      To create a No Parking Zone on the East side of Aunt Sukey’s Way and continue to allow parking with appropriate signs and street markings on the West side of the street.

2.      To create a crosswalk at the intersection of Franklin Street and Bradford Street to improve pedestrian safety.

3.      To free up additional parking spaces for short term fee paying customers at the Grace Hall lot by establishing a 7 day time limit for Permit holders. Action taken as follows:  Effective June 15, 2004 and Pursuant to Chapter 6-3-3 of the Town of Provincetown Parking and Traffic Regulations: All parking permits shall have a 7 day maximum time limit at the Grace Hall Parking Lot. Stays exceeding 7 days shall be charged at the prevailing hourly/daily rates.

4.      Pursuant to Chapter 6-1-1 of the Provincetown Parking & Traffic Regulations, to generate additional tax reducing revenues for the Town by adopting the following fee increases to Town of Provincetown Parking Permits.

5.      Pursuant to Section 6-6-2-1 of the Provincetown General By-laws, to generate additional tax reducing Parking revenues by increasing the $700 Special Business Permit fees for the Dune Tours and Trolley in $100 increments over a two year period beginning with the 2005 Season as follows:  2004 season, $700; 2005 season, $800; 2006 season, $900.

6.      For reasons of public safety to install a Stop Sign on Allerton Street at the corner of Allerton Street & Commercial Street and a “Children at Play” sign at the Bradford Street end of Allerton Street.

7.      To designate the parking spaces on Winthrop Street, North of Bradford Street as “Reserved for Resident Permits and Non Resident Property Owner Permits Only.”
