Applications for Water Service
Ms. Michaud presented two applications by the Town of Truro to install hydrants at 23 and 57 Shore Road. Both applications had been approved by the Truro Board of Health and Truro Board of Selectmen. Ms. Michaud stated that the applications had been reviewed by Acting Water Superintendent Carl Hillstrom, who recommended approval. Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, that the applications be approved. The motion passed by a vote of 3-0.
Responding to the Board’s request that the Board of Health develop criteria for sewer connections in any extensions, Health Agent Jane Evans reported that the Board of Health is continuing to discuss proposed changes to the regulations. Among the criteria under consideration are change of use, change of ownership, increase of 50 square feet in living area, and renovations costing in excess of 25% of the building value.
Mr. Evans also presented a draft report by Woodard & Curran of the spring grease trap inspections. The Board felt that, in several instances, some corrective action may be indicated. Accordingly, the Board agreed to have a meeting on June 14 at which Woodard & Curran would be asked to speak to the report. [The June 14 meeting was subsequently cancelled.]
Mr. Knight asked about delinquent water accounts in Truro. Ms. Michaud reported that there is a meeting set for June 21 between the Provincetown and Truro Boards of Selectmen and that the subject of procedures for handling delinquent Truro water accounts is on the agenda.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, to adjourn the meeting. The vote carried by a vote of 3-0, and the meeting was adjourned at 3:48 p.m.
