Town of Provincetown
Meeting of the
Water & Sewer Board
Members
present: Jonathan Sinaiko, Chair; Austin Knight; Anne Lord, Sacha Richter
Members
absent: None.
Other
attendees: DPW Staff Dana Faris and Ron Gamella
Call to Order: Mr. Sinaiko called
the meeting to order at 10:06 a.m.
Proposed
Laundromat Sewer Extension
Mr. Faris advised the Board that staff had
met with Conservation Agent Erica Larner, who had informed them that because
the previous Order of Conditions had expired, a new Notice of Intent will be
required. The application is on the
docket for the Conservation Committee’s March 21 meeting. Because the Conservation Agent recommended
that the Notice of Intent include all areas that the Town might reasonably wish
to include in the eventual scope of this sewer expansion, Mr. Sinaiko moved,
seconded by Mr. Richter, that staff delineate an area of concern to include in
the application that would encompass Shank Painter Road, Browne Street, Holway
Avenue, Prince Street, and portions of Bradford Street and Court Street. The motion carried by a vote of 4-0.
The intent in scheduling this meeting had
been to provide the Board with an opportunity to review a draft laundromat sewer
connection permit prior to the next facilitated sewer meeting with the Board of
Selectmen on February 22. Owing to a
scheduling mishap, town counsel was unable to provide the Board with a draft
permit prior to the meeting. Therefore,
Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Ms. Lord, that the Board withhold its review
until such time as a draft would be available.
Mr. Knight reiterated the desire that the draft permit include
appropriate language dealing with economic development. The motion carried by a vote of 4-0.
Adjournment
There being no further business, Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, to adjourn the meeting. The vote carried by a vote of 4-0, and the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
Respectfully
submitted,
