TOWN OF PROVINCETOWN — WATER & SEWER BOARD

 

MEETING — WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 6, 2004

 

GRACE GOUVEIA BUILDING, 26 ALDEN STREET, PROVINCETOWN

 

Chair Jon Sinaiko called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. noting the following attendees:

 

Members present:

Anne Lord, Jonathan Sinaiko, Sacha Richter

 

Members absent:

John Ciluzzi (unexcused), Terry Siegal (unexcused)

 

Other attendees:

DPW Director David Guertin; DPW Staff Dana Faris, Ron Gamella; Environmental Partners Group Staff Wayne Perry; Health Agent Jane Raasch; members of the public.

 

Connections Updates

Mr. Perry reported that of the original 453 planned connections, 379 connections have been completed.  There remain 74 connections to be completed, plus 51 connections classified as “red-dot delays.”

 

Ms. Raasch reports that septage pumping has decreased significantly since the sewer system began operations. 

 

Grease Trap Requirements

Ms. Raasch presented proposed amendments to the Sewer Rules and Regulations regarding grease traps with emphasis on compliance and penalties for non-compliance.  Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, to approve the proposed changes schedule and schedule a future public hearing.  The motion carried 3-0.

 

Adjournment

There being no other business to come before the board, Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, to adjourn the meeting.  The motion carried 3-0, and the meeting was adjourned at 4:23 p.m.
