TOWN OF PROVINCETOWN — WATER & SEWER BOARD

 

MEETING — THURSDAY MARCH 4, 2004

 

GRACE GOUVEIA BUILDING, 26 ALDEN STREET, PROVINCETOWN

 

Chairman Sinaiko called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. noting the following attendees:

 

Members present:

Anne Lord, Jonathan Sinaiko, Sacha Richter

 

Members absent:

John Ciluzzi (unexcused), Terry Siegal (unexcused)

 

Other attendees:

DPW Deputy Director Sandra Turner; DPW Staff Ron Gamella; Environmental Partners Group Staff Wayne Perry, Joy Ursillo; members of the public.

 

Public Statements

Chairman Sinaiko invited statements from the public.

 

Robert Cabral, re Fisherman’s Pier.  Mr. Cabral discussed his water usage and how the sewer bill would be calculated.

 

Richard Murray, re Crown and Anchor.  Mr. Murray complained that the water rates went up “over 40%” and the situation is “out of control.”  He says he has to take a loan from his life insurance policy in order to pay the bills. 

 

Certification of final betterment assessments

Ms. Ursillo explained revisions in the assessments (e.g., omissions or condominium conversions).  The board signed the revised assessment order.

 

Septage at treatment plant

There was a discussion of the potential for accepting septage from haulers at the treatment plant.

 

Adjournment

There being no other business to come before the board, Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, to adjourn the meeting.  The motion carried 3-0, and the meeting was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
