TOWN OF PROVINCETOWN — WATER & SEWER BOARD

 

MEETING — WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 11, 2004

 

GRACE GOUVEIA BUILDING, 26 ALDEN STREET, PROVINCETOWN

 

Chairman Sinaiko called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. noting the following attendees:

 

Members present:

Anne Lord, Jonathan Sinaiko, Sacha Richter

 

Members absent:

John Ciluzzi (unexcused), Terry Siegal (unexcused)

 

Other attendees:

Town Manager Keith Bergman; DPW Deputy Director Sandra Turner; DPW Staff Kathie Meads, Ron Gamella; Environmental Partners Group Staff Wayne Perry; members of the public and press.

 

Public Statements

Steve Boggess re 291-293 Commercial St. He suggests the Laudromat survey could be an insert in the Banner and that it will improve response.  He also wants to know what will be the procedures and time line for the Laundromat process and the billing process. 

 

Customers’ frozen water service lines

Mr. Bergman advised that the Board of Selectmen declared a state of emergency regarding customers’ frozen water service lines. He noted mutual aid was offered from the Towns of Yarmouth, Harwich, Brewster, Dennis, Barnstable and Wellfleet.  Discussion ensued.

 

Ms. Lord moved, seconded by Mr. Sinaiko, to recommend to the Board of Selectmen that $50,000 be allocated to extend the permanent water main at Mayflower Ave. and to install a hydrant.  The motion carried 3-0. 

 

Laundromat survey form

Ms. Meads presented the Laundromat public survey form.  Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, to approve the form.  The motion carried 3-0.

 

Review and certify properties on supplemental Notice of Betterment

The board signed the supplemental notice. 

 

Adjournment

There being no other business to come before the board, Mr. Sinaiko moved, seconded by Mr. Richter, to adjourn the meeting.  The motion carried 3-0, and the meeting was adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
