Provincetown Water and Sewer Board
Minutes of May 20, 2002

The Provincetown Water and Sewer Board was called to order by acting Chairman Jonathan Sinaiko. Present were: Board members, Anne Lord, Terry Siegel, Sacha Richter, Lucille Plante Also in attendance were D.P.W. Director Dave Guerton, Administrative assistant, Kathy Meads, and Chairman of Truro Board of Health, Gary Palmer.
Business discussed was the review and approval of the minutes of March 14, 2002. The minutes were from the Water and Sewer Board meeting and public hearing, both held on this date of March 14,2002.
David Guerton made a report on the water leak the town experienced. The leak was due to a slipping of a pipe off of a concrete block that supported the end cap of the pipe. The cause of the water leak alarm system not going off was because the Knowles Crossing Station had a glitch in the system located there. There had been work performed on the Knowles Crossing station and there was a failure in the alarm in that location
The next order of business discussed was the review and approval of granting the Truro council of aging a water hookup. The motion that was approved reads as follows:
The Provincetown Water and Sewer Board hereby approves hook-up of the former Seamen’s Savings Bank building on Route 6 to support occupancy of the Truro Council on Aging as conditioned by the vote of the Truro Board of Health on March 6, 2002 as stated: “the water line be removed when the Town (Truro) vacates the building.”
The vote to accept this motion was 5-0.
The motion was made by Lucille Plante to investigate motorized shut off valves on each tank and to update monitoring system. Sacha Richter seconded motion and the vote was 5-0.
The motion to adjourn was brought up by Jonathan Sinaiko, seconded by Anne Lord and the vote was 5-0.
