Chairman Rob Tosner convened a joint meeting of the VSB and the Adams Grant Task Force at 9:40 AM noting the following attendees:

Members Present: Rob Tosner, Chair; Kathleen Fitzgerald, Vice Chair; Laurel Guadazno; Michael Peregon; Mick Rudd; and Hersh Schwartz.

Excused Absence: Peter Bez.

REPAVING COMMERCIAL STREET

Sandy Turner, DPW and Russ Kleckamp, Engineer, Sterns & Wheeler. 

The engineers are drafting a Preliminary Design Report to present to the BOS scheduled for September 24, 2007. The project consist of the repaving and sidewalk repair of the 2.5 mile length of Commercial St from Bradford to Province Lands. The schedule calls for the Final Design Report to be completed Winter 2008, Final Design Specifications developed Spring 2008 to Spring 2009, with the project going out to bid January/ February 2009.

• Need input from MCCTF and Historical
• The Team met with the Disabilities Commission because existing conditions do not allow for full ADA compliance.
• Still working on the scope of the work possibly beyond Commercial Street to include adjacent side streets and driveways.

Russ presentation:

• Phasing, timing, sequencing – The process includes removing existing paving, laying a sub-base, allowing the sub-base to settle (natural settlement is preferred) laying a waring course, laying a top/finish paving.
• Esthetics – The preliminary report will include simulations as to what the road and sidewalks would look like with the various material options
• Types of sidewalks, crosswalks, materials – concrete or granite
• Min – 3' sidewalk – ideal is 5'
• The BOS would need to decide how to handle the many existing encroachments into the ROW and what type of materials will be used

No Update of the Historic & Cultural Walking Trail occurred.
