Chairman Lynne Davies convened the meeting at 10:05 am noting the following
attendees:
VSB members: Lynne Davies, Chairman; Peter Bez, Vice Chairman;
Kathleen Fitzgerald; Laurel Guadazno; and Michael Peregon.
Absent VSB members
(excused absence): Mick Rudd; Hersh
Schwartz.
Other attendees: Bill
Schneider, Administrative Director of Tourism; David Gardner, Administrative
Assistant II; Candace Collins-Boden, Provincetown Chamber of Commerce.
MOTION: Move to
approve the minutes of the March 27,
2006 VSB meeting as written.
Motion by: Peter

The ADT advised no responses
were received from the RFP from artists and the procurement form has not been
approved by the Town Manager.
A discussion ensued
regarding the proposed sponsorship of the Whale Trail and the timeline, which
did not allow much time for an artist to complete the project.
MOTION: Move
to table the VSB’s sponsorship of the Whale Trail and cancel the previously
requested procurement of $4,800 from the FY06 Marketing Budget for a 6-foot whale.

at 10:35am.
Tourism Director’s Report
MOTION: Move to
renew the contract with Holiday Media for an amount not to exceed $2,110 from
the FY07 Marketing Funds for a junior one-page ad in the 2007 New England Group
Tour Planner.
Motion by: Michael Peregon; Seconded by: Kathleen Fitzgerald; Yea: 4 Nay: 0

Discussion ensued regarding marketing concepts for group tour
advertisements.
MOTION: Move to
approve $600 from the FY06 Marketing Funds to be used to advertise in the IGLTA
Convention Guide Program Book for the upcoming convention in Washington DC on
May 25-29, 2006.

Tourism Office Website Links
Town Counsel’s opinion
regarding links to the Tourism’s Office website was discussed. The VSB requested the ADT develop a list of
types of links and present for discussion at the next VSB meeting.
Provincetown Cultural
Package
Joint
meeting scheduled for May 5, 2006 with the Economic Development Council and MCC
Adams Grant Task Force.
Meeting
