Chairman Steve Melamed called the
meeting to order at 10:00 AM noting the following attendees:

Laurel Guadazno arrived at 10:10 AM.
Richard Olson presented an overview of the upcoming Eugene
O’Neill Society Conference, which is scheduled . for
June 15 – 20, 2005. This event
coincides with the Provincetown International Film Festival. Mr. Olson thanked the Board for their
support and for budgeting $5,000 to produce and publish a booklet that will
showcase Provincetown as the destination for this year’s conference. Ms. Fitzpatrick spoke about the funding of
the conference, which is being done without Town tourism funds (except for the
commemorative book to be produced for the conference). Mr. Olson affirmed he will proceed with
obtaining an RFP for the printing and production of the book.
Barbara Rushmore asked if
additional information was needed regarding grant application number 29
submitted on behalf of the Library Building Fund. The Chairman requested discussion regarding this application be
tabled until the next meeting.

Arts Work Center for the Fall ’05 Workshop Program.

concerning the Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta.
MOTION: Move to approve the grant application for $10,000 submitted by the Great
Provincetown Schooner Regatta.

questions and discussion by the Board concerning the Provincetown Portuguese
Festival.
MOTION: Move to approve the grant application for $5,000 submitted by the
Provincetown Portuguese Festival.

During discussion amongst
the Board, Ms. Freeman suggested the motion be amended to reflect the grant
award of $7,500.00.
Ms. Rushmore withdrew her
previous motion and Ms. Freeman withdrew her second of the previous motion.

Provincetown Portuguese Festival.

The Chairman noted that
no representative was present from the Provincetown Retail Organization. The Vice Chairman noted that the Board
typically does not approve grant applications for an event on a holiday weekend
where tourists traditionally are in Town.
MOTION: Move to deny the grant application submitted by the Provincetown Retail
Organization for the Thanksgiving Weekend Midnight Madness due to the lack of
information.

Organization for the “Twelve Days of Christmas” event due to the conflict with
Holly Folly and due to the lack of information.

The Board discussed the
request submitted by the Provincetown Retail Organization for the Twelve Days
of Christmas event during which Ms. Freeman withdrew her motion and Ms.
Rushmore withdrew her second of the motion.

Organization for the “Twelve Days of Christmas” event due to the lack of
information.

requested the Board reconsider the grant application she submitted concerning
the Sinking Fund for Fire House #2.
MOTION: Move to reconsider the grant application number 26 submitted for the
Sinking Fund for Fire House #2, amended to be in the amount of $3,000 .

between members of the Board regarding the municipal enhancement budget.

meeting at 11:40 AM.

Organization for the “Fall In Love With Provincetown” event due to the lack of
information.

Vice Chair Davies advised
the Board that the Provincetown Business Guild has withdrawn their application
for a grant in the amount of $20,000 for the Provincetown Music Festival.
Cherie Mittenthal
responded to questions and discussion by the Board concerning the Truro Center
for the Arts at Castle Hill Third Annual “Paint The Town” event.
MOTION: Move to level fund the grant application submitted by the Truro Center for
the Arts at Castle Hill for the Third Annual “Paint The Town” event in the
amount of $1,500.00.
