MEETING – WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2005
Chairman Steve Melamed reconvened
the meeting at 9:36 AM noting the following attendees:
VSB members: Peter Bez; Lynne Davies, Vice Chairman;
Ellen Freeman; Laurel Guadazno; Steve Melamed, Chairman; Mick Rudd and Barbara

The following are meeting
minutes, in brief.
The
Chairman requested David Flower explain his proposal for decorating the
Provincetown VSB booth at the Gay and Lesbian Expo.
Mr.
Flower advised the Board he was approached by Gabby Hanna from the PBG to
decorate and the booth.
The
Board discussed the proposal Mr. Flower submitted concerning decorating the VSB
booth. Rick Murray discussed his
perception of the VSB’s booth in previous years.
The
Chairman requested the Tourism Director include the VSB approved tagline “Like
No Where Else” be included on the Calendar of Events for the Provincetown VSB
booth.
The
Board discussed the elements that needed to be purchased for the Expo booth,
including four photos from the PBG’s brochure showcasing Provincetown, the VSB
Calendar and Events, Provincetown pennants, fabric, beach balls, a banner
featuring “Provincetown – Like No Where Else” and a sisal rug.
Mr.
Flower addressed music for the booth and the Board discussed concepts
surrounding keeping the atmosphere fun and exciting.
The Chairman addressed the Tourism Director’s email concerning the
Governor’s Tourism Conference, an educational event for tourism professionals.
MOTION: Move to appropriate up to $750 for the Tourism Director to attend the
March 29-30 Governor’s Tourism Conference from the FY 2005 marketing budget.

The Tourism Director will
provide an overview of her attendance at the American Bus Association conference
and seminars.
The Chairman announced he
and the Tourism Director attended a meeting of Provincetown Retail Organization
yesterday.

The Chairman announced
the next VSB meeting will be Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 10:00 AM. The agenda will include the eight grant
applications for FY 2006 and marketing budget FY 2005.
