Meeting called to order at 17:10

Reading of the September minutes, Motion to accept by John Baldwin. 2nd by Alex Brown unanimous

 

New Business: Motion by Alex Brown to raise the non-resident shellfish permits from $25 to $50 to keep in line with the upper cape towns. Discussion, find out how many permits are sold annually resident and non-resident. 2nd by Daniel Notaro. Unanimous

 

Old Business: Motion to accept Jesse Cartwright’s application for committee membership by Daniel Notaro 2nd by John Baldwin. Unanimous

 

Annual voting in of officers. Motion made by the secretary to retain the same officers Daniel Notaro-chairman. Michael Anderson-vice-chairman. John Baldwin-secretary. 2nd by Alex Brown. Unanimous

 

Maximum of three ideas for aquaculture and recreational research for the betterment of the town regarding shellfishing from each member.

Michael Anderson-predator control i.e. green crab, moon snail

Alex Brown-viability of hand raking quahogs in Provincetown harbor

Jesse Cartwright-improved method of mussel farming, recheck coliform data between tissue and water samples, oyster farming feasibility

John Baldwin-feasibility of aquaculture (butter clams) for recreational digging

Daniel Notaro-research and propagation of bay scallops in Provincetown

 

Next meeting scheduled for November 5,2002
