Called to Order 5:05 pm. Members present: Mel Cote, Alex Brown (Chair), Tony Jackett (Shellfish Constable), John Baldwin (Sec.), Paul Tasha

 

Shellfish Constable’s Report:

New State regulation of River Herring. Moratorium on harvest, possession, and sale, for three years: Jan.1, 2006 to January 2009. DISCUSSION.

 

MOTION by Alex Brown. To support Division of Marine Fisheries regulation on moratorium of river herring (alewives), in Town waters. Second: Mel Cote. DISCUSSION. VOTED TO ACCEPT 4 – 0.

   

MOTION by Alex Brown. To consider the establishment of a Natural Resources Officer in Provincetown. Second: Paul Tasha. DISCUSSION. VOTED TO TABLE TO NEXT MEETING 4 – 0.

 

MOTION by Paul Tasha. To support any action deemed necessary to promote adequate flushing and health of Mill Pond. Second: Alex Brown. DISCUSSION. VOTED TO ACCEPT 4 – 0.

 

MOTION by Alex Brown. To accept Rick Macara’s and Jesse Cartwright’s grant applications as read. Second: Paul Tasha. DISCUSSION. VOTED TO ACCEPT 4 – 0.

 

MOTION by John Baldwin. To accept grant application site corrections and specifications to David Salvadore’s and Alex Brown’s grants. Second: Mel Cote. Alex Brown RECUSED. DISCUSSION. VOTED TO ACCEPT 3 – 0.

 

MOTION by Paul Tasha. To present 2006 goals from each member at next meeting for management plan to present to Commonwealth. Second: John Baldwin. DISCUSSION. VOTED TO ACCEPT 4 – 0.

 

MOTION to Adjourn by Alex Brown. Seconded by Mel Cote. Meeting adjourned 6:12 pm.
