Jasmine Hadley reported the Senior Class Play will be held on December 7th & 8th at

Superintendent’s Update:
● Supt. Waugh discussed with the committee she is hoping to increase parent involvement in our schools. Supt. Waugh informed them she has placed an ad in the Banner inviting
Parents to serve on various advisory councils: Special Needs preK-12, Athletic, VMES
Title I. The
superintendent is inviting all to an informational meeting being held in the
VMES Library on
● Supt. Waugh announced she is planning to have class officers come to school committee meetings. Each grouping of class officers will come at their own designated times. Mrs. Trovato asked if two site counselors could also be scheduled to participate in school committee meetings. The superintendent agreed.
● Petra Farias, Guidance Counselor made a presentation to the committee regarding scheduling, courses and curriculum. Ms. Faria stated this is an ongoing endeavor. Ms. Faria also indicated she has always encouraged and informed students her office is always available to them.
Peter Grosso made a motion to bring forward Agenda Item 8.1 (Special Education Line Item Transfer Request). Seconded by Debra Trovato. So voted 5-0
The superintendent reviewed the line item request. There was no further discussion.

The committee returned to the Superintendent’s Update regarding the FY-09 Budget preparation and considerations. Supt. Waugh will keep the committee informed of the budget process and status.
New Business:
8.2 Superintendent Waugh presented a letter from Gail Browne requesting to be re-appointed to the John Anderson Francis Scholarship Committee for a second, three year term. Peter Grosso made a motion to re-appointment Gail Browne to the JAFSC. Seconded by Debra Trovato. So voted 5-0
On a roll call unanimous vote, the Chairperson announced the committee is going into Executive Session for the purposes of Discussion with respect to Non-Union Contracts and Discussion with respect to Collective Bargaining. The Chairperson also announced the committee would not be returning to regular session for the purpose of adjournment.
