Minutes of November 6, 2007

WORKSHOP

STRATEGIC PLANNING

Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chair), Peter Grosso (Vice Chair), Shannon Patrick, Debra Trovato, and Kerry Adams

Others Present: Jessica Waugh, Superintendent of Schools, and Dr. Floriano Pavão, School Principal

Student Representatives: Jasmine Hadley and Patricia Sendao

The Chair called the Workshop to order at 4:00 P.M.

The workshop began with discussions around the goals and priorities of the school committee. Also discussed were possible approaches to marketing, public relations and recruiting students.

Dr. Pavao reported to the committee that at Provincetown High School four task force groups made-up of teachers have been created. Each task force represents one of the following four themes: Supervision/Evaluation, Public Relations, Collaboration, and Collective Vision. Actions on Public Relations, Collaboration and Collective Vision are “on hold” until the work of the Steering Committee comes to fruition.

Other matters discussed were giving school groups a voice. That would also include students and their ideas, expectations as well as concerns.

No motions or votes taken.

The workshop was adjourned at 5:40 P.M.
