Minutes of  March 27,  2007

 

Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chair), Peter Grosso (Vice Chair), Burton Wolfman (Secretary), Debra Trovato, Shannon Patrick, Jasmine Hadley (Student Representative)

 

Also Present: Jessica Waugh, Superintendent of Schools,   Dr. Floriano Pavao, School Principal,  Elizabeth Francis, Amy Rockicki and Others

 

Vice Chair called the meeting to order at 4:10 P.M.

 

Minutes:

Peter Grosso made a motion to approve the 2/26/2007 Minutes.  Seconded by Burton Wolfman, So Voted 3-0-2

 

Debra Trovato made a motion to approve the 2/6/2007 Minutes.  Seconded by Shannon Patrick.  So voted 4-0-1

 

Peter Grosso made a motion to approve the 3/13/2007 Minutes.  Seconded by Shannon Patrick.  So voted 3-0-2

 

Superintendent’s Update:

 

→  Ms. Waugh informed the Committee that the ice hockey agreements are under review for possible implementation in Fiscal Year 2009.

→ Superintendent Waugh also noted the (Girls) Basketball Awards Dinner was a great success.

 → Ms. Waugh also stated that four members of the school committee met with Deaconess Representatives regarding the fence at Motta Field.  She was happy to report the matter has been successfully resolved.

 

Unfinished Business:

The committee reviewed (2nd reading) the 2007-2008 School Year Calendar.  It was noted there was one change from the original draft.  That change is that report cards will be sent on April 18th, 2008 not April 11th.  Peter Grosso made a motion to approve the school calendar.  Shannon Patrick seconded.  It was so voted 5-0

 

New Business:

Peter Grosso made a motion to approve a line item transfer from 10-2720-31-500-124 Guidance Supplies/Postage $350 to line item 10-2710-31-200-101 Guidance Salary Prof. for the purpose of additional temporary clerical staff related to March MCAS administration.  Seconded by Debra Trovato.  So voted 5-0

Committee recessed to enter Workshop with Dr George Ladd regarding Strategic Planning.
