Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chair), Peter Grosso (Vice Chair), Debra Trovato, Burton Wolfman (Secretary), and Shannon Patrick

Student Representatives: Jasmine Hadley Excused: Pele Berg

Also Present: Jessica Waugh, Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Floriano Pavao, District Principal, and Beth Francis, VMES Teacher and Assistant to Dr. Pavao

The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M.

Public Comments:

None

Minutes:

Peter Grosso made a motion to approve the Minutes of November 16, 2006. Debra Trovato seconded. The motion was so voted 4-0-1 Shannon Patrick Abstained

The Minutes of November 16, 2006 indicated Shannon Patrick was appointed Cape Cod Collaborative PSC representative. Ms. Patrick indicated that she would not be interested to serve in that capacity at this time.

Superintendent’s Update:

Superintendent Waugh announced the following:

• The appointment of Dr. Vida Gavin as Director of Student Services.

• Dr. George Ladd will lead a long-term strategic planning process after the first of the year.

• Superintendent Waugh also informed the Committee of grants received by faculty from the Cape Cod Five Charitable Foundation as well as contributions from the Cape Cod Intergenerational Music Group for the school’s music program.

New Business:

The Committee discussed the appointment of a (school employee) representative to the John Anderson Francis Family Scholarship Committee. Burton Wolfman made a motion to table the appointment in order to clarify whether or not there was a conflict of interest in appointing a school employee. The motion was seconded by Peter Grosso. It was so voted 4-0.

The Committee discussed the recent Joint Meeting with the Board of Selectmen which was held on December 12, 2006.

Committee adjourned at 4:45 P.M.
