Minutes of June 12, 2006

Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chairperson), Peter Grosso (Vice Chair), Debra Trovato, Burton Wolfman (Secretary), Shannon Patrick

Also in Attendance: Janice Lachowetz, Superintendent of Schools, Jessica Waugh,

Curriculum Coordinator, Anthony.Teso, VMES Principal/DSS

The Chair called the meeting to order following roll call at 11: 00 A.M.

The Chair reported on the following actions taken during Executive Session.

1. Announced the decision to seek consultants to lead an effort in an assessment of teachers and curriculum leading to recommendations for organizational restructuring and also seek consultants to conduct a fiscal evaluation of the district’s budget

2. The Committee reaffirmed its initial and prior vote to staff two preschool rooms in the Fall 2006, if the enrollment justifies the need

3. The Committee announced the appointment of Jessica Waugh as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2006

Peter Grosso made a motion to authorize the award of gift certificates ($50 each) to this year’s six retiring staff members. Burton Wolfman seconded the motion. It was so voted 5-0

The Chair adjourned the meeting at 11.35 A.M.
