Minutes of May 1, 2006

Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chairperson), Peter Grosso (Vice Chair), Debra Trovato, Burton Wolfman (Secretary), Molly Perdue,

Also in Attendance: Janice K. Lachowetz, Supt. of Schools

The Chair called the meeting to order 8:47 A.M. following roll call of members.

Burt Wolfman moved that Jessica Waugh be appointed to the position of Assistant to the Superindentent for Teaching and Learning and Daily Operations effective July 1, 2006. Peter Grosso seconded the motion. There was a brief discussion and expressions of school committee support of Ms. Waugh The motion carried and it was so voted 5-0

On a roll call vote in favor the Committee went into Executive Session at 8:55 A.M. for the purpose of discussing non union contracts and would return to open session immediately following the completion of the executive session.

Committee returned to open session at 9:05 A.M. and heard a report from Peter Grosso on the status of collective bargaining. The Committee took no formal action on all pending issues until clarification from School Counsel.

The Committee requested an update on all open staff position for the next school committee meeting.

The Committee adjourned at 9:30A.M.
