Minutes of November 29, 2005

Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chairperson), Peter Grosso( ViceChair), Debra Trovato, Molly Perdue, Burton Wolfman( Secretary).

Also in Attendance: Janice Lachowetz, Superintendent of Schools, Anthony Teso, VMES Principal/DSS, Edward Boxer, PHS Principal, and Keith Bergman, Town Manager.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 4.09 P.M.

Superintendent Lachowetz presented to the school committee a draft of the budget for FY-07. She reviewed the process by which the budget was developed. Superintendent Lachowetz recommended that members of the Committee review the draft. The superintendent will then arrange appointments for each member to meet with the principals who will review budget details and program implications before the next school committee meeting. Mr. Boxer and Mr. Teso commented on some of the highlights of the proposed budget with special recognition of the needs for technology augmentation

At 4:35. P.M. following a roll vote the members the Committee went into Executive Session with Town Manager Keith Bergman as a voting member of Committee for collective bargaining purposes to discuss pending union contracts.
