Minutes of October 11, 2005

Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chairperson), Peter Grosso (ViceChair), Debra Trovato, Molly Perdue, Burton Wolfman (Secretary).

Also in attendance: Janice Lachowetz, Supt. of Schools, AnthonyTeso, VMES Principal/Director Student Services, Edward Boxer, PHS Principal, Jessica Waugh,

Curriculum Coordinator, and Dr. George Ladd, Director of Data Analysis and the Strategic Planning Project at Boston University.

Chair called the workshop to order at 11:30 A.M.

Dr. Ladd discussed the importance of strategic planning for school committees and districts in establishing school improvement plans and meeting educational goals. He stressed the importance of identifying community values and identifying realistic targets of achievement.

The workshop adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
