Minutes of March 29 ,2005

Members Present: Terese Nelson (Chairperson), Peter Grosso(ViceChair), Molly Perdue, Debra Trovato, Burton Wolfman( Secretary). Elizabeth Freeman(excused)

Also in attendance: Dr. Trailor, Mr. Teso, Mr. Boxer and the following members of school councils, Ms. Boxer, Ms. Campagna, Mr. Boise, Ms. Woods, Ms. Edwards, Ms. Blake, and Ms. Hamilton

Chairperson called the meeting to order 4.05PM with roll call vote of members present.

Committee and Council members discussed strategies to increase school community involvement at Town Meetings.

Mr. Wolfman made a motion to move discussion item 6( Coastal Studies Mass Sail) forward while members of the Council were still present. Molly Perdue seconded the motion. It was approved 5-0. Mr Teso and Mr Boxer reported on the plans for the school’s participation in the new program initiative.

The Committee then approved the following sets of minutes of prior meetings/workshops: 3/8/05 These minutes were amended to include proposal to offer adult education courses in the Fall. Moved , Debra Trovato, Seconded Molly Perdue, Approved as amended 5-0

1/18/05 Moved, Molly Perdue, Seconded, Peter Grosso. Approved 4- with one abstention( Debra Trovato who was absent)

1/31/05 Moved, Debra Trovato, Seconded, Peter Grosso. Approved 4 with one abstention( Burt Wolfman who was absent)

7/12/04 Moved, Molly Perdue, Seconded, Peter Grosso. Approved 5-0

2/26/04 Moved, Debra Trovato, Seconded, Molly Perdue, Approved 4 with one abstention( Burt Wolfman was not a member at the time)

2/12/04 Moved, Debra Trovato, Seconded, Molly Perdue. Approved 4 with one abstention

12/2/03 Moved, Peter Grosso, Seconded Debra Trovato. Approved 3 with two abstentions

Item 6: Dr. Trailor reported on an FY-04 audit report and noted audit recommendations with particular attention to the recommendation of School and Town reconciliation of cost allocations. Peter Grosso, moved and Burt Wolfman seconded to accept FY-04 audit. Approved 5-0

Item 7: After considerable discussion of Calendar options and with the recognition that changes could not be made unilaterally, Burt Wolfman, moved and Molly Perdue seconded the motion to approve the Calendar for 2005-06 School Year as presented. Approved 5-0

Item 8: Dr. Trailor informed Committee that the Town Manager wanted to clarify the formal ratification of the following items at Town Meeting: STM-6,STM-7,STM-8 and ATM-4. The Committee noted that they had unanimously endorsed these items previously and wished to reiterate their prior approval.

Citing a need for more information the Committee moved to table the new business items as presented with the agenda. Burt Wolfman ,moved and Molly Perdue seconded the motion to table. Approved 5-0

Committee adjourned 6:30PM
