Recycling Committee

Meeting called to order at 11:03am

Public Comment: none

Catherine Russo nominated Jerry Anathan to chair the committee, Anna Carter seconded the motion, Jerry Anathan voted to chair the committee 5-0.

Discussion of History, issues with transfer station and our relationship with DPW, lack of recycling at the Grand Union despite their stance that they do indeed recycle.

Discussed investigating towns that do recycle and how they make it work.

Lou Ann Bowen suggested looking into how we can make recycling a money- maker for the town, not an expense.

Discussed looking at Truro as a model.

All agreed that we need to get the selectmen/women to understand the necessity to recycle and to work with the DPW.
