Minutes of May 8th 2007

 

 

 

Members Present:  Susan Cook, Treg Kaeselau, David Mazochi, Bronwyn Malicoat

 

Members Absent:   Cass Benson, Jill Macara

Call to order:  6:05

 

Minutes: none to approve at this time

 

Directors Report: 

Skate Park was closed for graffiti and bad behavior; there were many many upset parents.  Tracy held a meeting with concerned parents, as well as Chief Tobias and Officer Rapose. The outcome is that kids using the park can only do so after signing a contract and paying a 10.00 membership fee.  The park will be reopened ahead of schedule if parents and kids using the park will come to clean it up on Saturday.

Derek Macara will be out at the park for supervision, and would like to paint a mural on the cement with the commission’s prior approval.

 

Old Business: Trash can project: didn’t pan out the way it was planned.  Tracy plans to have kids paint during the summer program and revisit the project in the fall.

 

New Business:  

Summer Program Fees:  the summer program will run for 10 weeks, 9 a.m. –3 p.m. Monday- Friday beginning June 23 and ending August 31.  The fee Tracy is recommending is $100.00 for the 1st child, 75 for the second, and 50.00 for any child after that. No fee for full time town employee’s children and non-vmes students are $65.00 per week. Susan motioned to set the fees as recommended, David seconded, and motion carried 4-0 unanimous

 

Voting for officers:    Bronwyn nominated Treg Kaeselau as chair. David seconded unanimous, Bronwyn nominated David as co-chair, Treg seconded, unanimous, Treg nominated Susan as secretary David seconded, unanimous.
