Minutes of December 5, 2006

Also in attendance: Tracy Roderick Recreation Director, Laurie Roles Asst. Recreation Director, Cass Benson, Bronwyn Malicoat

Call to order: 6:00 pm

Directors Report:

Sadly this is Cagey's (Robert Cahill) last meeting, we appreciate his time and dedication.

Update on basketball season. Still need to find a coach for 5/6 grade boys. Meeting of the league, Thursday 12/7/06 in Orleans, Tracy will attend.

Tracy and Laurie are planning a “Sponge Bob” party in January-details to follow.

Trashcan Art: Tracy went before the VSB seeking support for a new project, letting kids paint the municipal trashcans. The VSB supported it wholeheartedly and agreed to bring it to the BOS. The project will be piloted using 25 cans.

Budget report

Teen Night started 12/8/06, led to discussion re: new equipment and renovating the basement.

DPW to paint the interior of the Community Center, and build a storage unit in the yoga room.

Laurie is working on gym renovations.

Old Business: Membership: There are 2 openings that the commission has the power to fill.

Cass Benson attended meeting because she is interested in becoming a member of the rec commission, she was nominated to the full-time vacancy by Susan, 2^nd by Jill. Vote unanimous 4-0.

Bronwyn Malicoat attended meeting to see what it was all about with a possible interest in filling the alternate seat. Nominated by Jill, 2^nd by Susan. Vote unanimous 4-0

Tracy will email the town clerk in the morning and let him know that Cass and Bronwyn will be down to be sworn in.

Robert Cahill left meeting at this point.
