Meeting called to order 6:05 p.m.

 

In attendance:  Members Treg Kaeselau, Robert Cahill, Susan Cook, and Jill Macara.    Assistant Director Tracy Roderick.

 

1.  Public Comment   none

 

2. Summer program report:  Assistant director recapped the summer program activities.  Credited the staff.  Discussion ensued re: beginning the program in June, and possibly offering additional hours such as 8-9 a.m 9 a.m. and 3-5p.m.  Commission voted 4-0 to write letter to the editor thanking the Asst Director and the summer staff for such a successful season.  Motion J Macara, second R. Cahill

 

3. Fall Activities:  Registration for soccer has been slow.  There is a league wide directors meeting on Thursday 10/14/06 to discuss the soccer season.  Discussion ensued re: soccer field and its poor condition.  Asst. Director asked to follow up with DPW Director.   Kickball, dance and arts and crafts will be held as well.

 

4. Old Business: Recreation Director, there needs to be one. Vote 4-0 to ask the selectmen for a joint meeting to discuss what the plan is for getting a director.  Motion S. Cook, second J Macara

 

Naming the skate park discussion re: the time it has taken for the commission to decided on a name.   Motion to name the park Provincetown Skate Park made by J Macara, Second by R. Cahill.  Motion carries 3-1

 

5. New Business: Skateboard Competition, the Knights of Columbus are interested in co-sponsoring a skateboard competition this fall.   T Kaeselau will follow up with Wesley Medeiros, who will then follow up with the Assistant Director.

 

Open Space Plan:  Motion to accept The Provincetown Open Space plan made by R Cahill, second J Macara.  Motion carries 4-0

 

6. Minutes   the minutes taken for this evenings meeting were reviewed.  Motion made by R Cahill to accept, second by S Cook.  Motion carries 4-0
