Minutes

 

In attendance: Susan Cook, Jill Macara, Candy Silva, Dennis Clark Director, Tracy Roderick Assistant Director. Guests: Frank Vasello-Artist, Terese Nelson, School Committtee chair, Debra Trovato, School Committee member

 

Meeting called to order 6:30

 

Public Comments:  none at this time

 

Evans Field Art Installation Proposal:

Artist Frank Vasello watned permission from the commissioin to use Evans Field for an art exhibit.  Ms. Silva explained  to him that the field could not be used because of the endangered wild life and wetlands.  She also  suggested he go to the Conservation Commission to seek a site for his exhibit.

 

Old Business: 

Skate park rules and regs, all set need to be written and formalized.  All members agree helmets,, wrist pads and elbow pads are required by users. Discussion re: if disciplinary actions will be taken if the rules are broken.

 

Fundraising Activities: none discussed at this time.

 

Community Preservation Act: discussion regarding how it works, and the benefits and costs of the Act.  There will be an article at town meeting, and then again at the ballot in the May election.

 

New Business: 

Team Uniforms:  John and Joy Reis want to buy “major league uniformas for the 3rd/4th grade baseball team, the director sought a vote for purchase of uniforms, with the possibility of advertising on the backs.  Susan Cook made the motion to not allow private purchase and or advertising, Jill Macara seconded, motion carries 3-0

 

Motta Field:

Discussion regarding the town’s proposal to  take a portion of Motta Field for the renovation/addition to the manor.  Work sessioin scheduled with the school committee  and selectmen set for 2/10/06 at 5:30 at the annex.
