Recreation Commission Meeting Minutes

November 25, 2003

6:30 Meeting called to order by Candy Silva

Members present: Robert Cahill, Susan Cook, Treg Kaeselau,

Jill Macara, Candy Silva, and Recreation Director Dennis Clark.

Police Chief Ted Meyer

I. Public Statement: None at this time

II. Old Business: Skatepark Review – Rules and Regulations

a. Chief Meyer brought copies of other skatepark regulations. These regulations conform to the regulations established by the Recreation Commission.

b. Helmets: Use of helmets will be strictly enforced. Macara will ask Board Stiff about helmet donations.

c. Enforcement of rules: Commission contemplating a list of fines if rules are broken. Commission members can enforce rules if they see infractions while driving by.

d. Clark will organize the rules and have them published in the Banner.

e. Park will be open from 10:00am till dusk, seven days a week, schedule to be reviewed as necessary… Chief Meyer was asked if patrol officers could assist in locking and unlocking the park during summer hours.

f. Other Old Business: Fundraiser Barbeque at the Lobster Pot on December 5 from 11:30am – 7:00pm. Still need more waitrons and delivery drivers. Fundraiser will take place instead of Dec. meeting. Next meeting January 7, 2004
