Kiki Harold: Will not be able to move forward with the David Flowers Pier dance due to the fee structure. They feel that the fee structure is not in line with market rates. They would like to discuss changes to the fee structure w/the board.
Kerry Adams: What do you feel is an adequate rate for the venue?
Kiki Harold: Non-Profit Event rate should be $500 and Profit Event rate should be $1000.
Len Clingham: Does not want to discuss this in Public Statements. Will save it for New Business later in the meeting. Anything else to add?
Kiki Harold: The pier can help with the event insurance. Would also like to be able to purchase rain insurance but cannot afford with the event insurance.
Len Clingham: Requested that they put together a proposal for the next meeting in two weeks.
Kiki Harold: Would like to stress the importance of timeliness.
Francisco Vincente
David J. Farrell, Jr. Admiralty Attorney
David J. Farrell, Jr.: Explained his handling of the
F/V Miss
Kerry Adams: Would love to but we have no place to put it. This will require a lot of money.
Francisco Vincente: Gave brief history of Chico Jess.
Len Clingham: Asked if the gov was still buying boats.
David J. Farrell, Jr.: They are in contact with Delahunt’s office.
Lee Ash: There are other boats in arrears, some more than others. Her biggest question or worry is safety. (sinking).
Francisco Vincente: The vessel is safe.
Lee Ash: is there any fuel on board?
Francisco Vincente: 30 to 40 gallons of diesel.
Phil Tarvers: What value do you put on this boat?
Francisco Vincente: Broker put price of $120K. Told broker to lower it to $99K.
Kerry Adams: The 18 day permit, if taken out of the deal, what would the boat be worth?
Francisco Vincente: Shit, too many boats for sale.
Kerry Adams: Would you sell the license only?
Francisco Vincente: Yes
David J. Farrell, Jr.: If someone were to buy the boat w/permits they would transfer the permits and they would get rid if the boat.
Rex McKinsey: Our concern is that the costs of dealing with the boat should something happen is not something anybody wants.
Kerry Adams: Do you have insurance on boat?
Francisco Vincente: No
Kerry Adams: Have you approached anyone interested in acquiring the boat as a museum piece?
Francisco Vincente: There was interest but no money. If he sells the permits he would be glad to donate the boat to the town.
Phil Tarvers: Does not think the permits are worth that much. Does the PPPC have any interest in this boat?
Kerry Adams: Thinks the town is interested.
Rex McKinsey: The historical district is interested.
Discussion
Kerry Adams: Would you be willing to donate the boat personally?
David J. Farrell, Jr.: Francisco can do the donation of the boat before the sale of the permits.
Kerry Adams: Can we ask the press to write a story about the boat being available for donation?
David J. Farrell, Jr.: Recognize the situation and will work directly with Francisco Vincente to dispose of the boat.
Len Clingham: It is the liability of the boat on the pier and not the money.

Lee Ash: The PPPC Mission Statement includes supporting the commercial fisherman. Anything that we can do to assist is imperative. Hopes that in the future that our subtenants realize that any new boat that comes to be on a west float needs to notify the harbormaster as per the PPPC Pier regulations. Requested that we talk about moorings at the next meeting.
Kerry Adams: Dismayed about the way the article in the Banner was written in regards to the barge purchase.
Phil Tarvers: What happened to the pilings on the courtesy float?
Rex Mckinsey: Temporary pilings were used to replace those that snapped because a grant is coming to replace them.
Len Clingham: Apologized for missing the last meeting. Tired of all of the misinformation being spread around town from an employee of the PPPC to his wife who happens to be the chair of the BoS.
