Auditorium
Present: George
Hitchcock, Vice Chair, John Baldwin, and Chip Bradish
Excused Absences: Paul deRuyter, Chair, and Lee Ash
Other Attendees: Rex McKinsey, Pier Manager.
The PPPC meeting was called to order by George Hitchcock at 4:10 PM.
Mike Glasfield, who was scheduled to appear and make a statement, could not attend this meeting therefore there were no public statements.
Director’s Statements
John Baldwin stated that he had heard complaints from fishermen regarding the ice machine. The directors discussed the problems with the ice machine. Rex McKinsey stated that the problem should be cleared up by the afternoon (June 9th). Mr. Baldwin stated that Chris King (fisherman) felt that Rex McKinsey was not relegating enough authority regarding parking, etc.
By July 1, everyone should be sworn in their positions so that there should be more help. Mr. McKinsey will delegate work but needs more people to delegate responsibility to.
George Hitchcock read a draft of a letter from Vaughn Cabral which will be sent to the Army Engineers, Coast Guard and the Town. A copy of the letter should be placed in the file. At first, John Baldwin felt he had to recuse himself from any discussion of the letter but because of a lack of a quorum, it was decided that Mr. Baldwin should be allowed to vote if necessary.
Chip Bradish felt that the discussion of this letter should be continued at the next meeting because of a lack of attendance of a complete Board at this meeting and the need for a discussion by the full Board. The discussion will take place at the next meeting, Thursday, June 23rd, at 4:00 PM.
Pier Manager’s Report
Rex McKinsey stated that the Portuguese Festival obtained a permit from the Board of Health. A motion was made to waive Pier Regulation 1-3-10 to the Portuguese Festival to be able to serve beer and wine on Sunday, June 26 from noon until 4:00 PM and only on the “T.”
