Meeting Minutes of

Present:  Paul deRuyter, Chair, Lee Ash, George Hitchcock, John Baldwin, and Chip Bradish

 

Other Attendees: Rex McKinsey, Pier Manager.

 

The PPPC meeting was called to order by Paul DeRuyter at 4:04 PM.

 

Public Statements

There were no public statements.

 

Annual Public Hearing for Float Space Renewals

A motion was made to approve Float Space 1W through 7W renewals.

Float Space 8W was discussed last month. The brochures on two boats have been issued and there are two new subtenants. A general discussion of the applicant’s business ensued. Rex McKinsey recommended continuing the application until the next meeting. The Board felt that they would like to meet with and talk to the applicants. Lee Ash said she would feel OK with a phone conversation or brochure. 

 

A motion was made to approve the license for the 2 vessels that are there presently.. The approval for the new sub-tenants would be a conditional upon meeting more stringent parameters of C91’s commercial operations as defined by the Pier Corp.

The Board discussed license renewals and a set of guidelines/standards of licensing.

 

Paul DeRuyter suggested continuing the hearing regarding Float Space 9W and to ask the float owners to appear before the Board. The Board does not approve of the two recreational boats to be on the float.

 

A motion was made to allow the license for the Bay Lady but not for the other boats.

The hearing for Float Space 10W will be continued until June 23rd because of problems the owner wants to work out. The Pier Corp. will use the space until the Hindu is ready to return. George Hitchcock questioned the legality of this.

 

A motion was made to continue the hearing regarding Float Space 10W until June 23rd.

The owner of Float Space 1E appeared and explained use of the boat. She asked about the frequency of use of the boat, etc. Paul DeRuyter stated that this is a judgment call. Lee Ash stated that if the owner has brochures and advertising, it would show the use as a business.

 

A motion was made to renew the license of Float Space 1E for 2005-06.

It was moved to adjourn the Public Hearing at 4:32 PM.
