Minutes of October 17 2000
Meeting called to order at 10am
Present: Celine Gandolfo, Fred
Berger, Robin Evans, Barbara
Sullivan
Robin reported on a Selectman’s
meeting she attended. Plan was
presented by Mr. Bergman, which
included using landbank funds for
affordable housing, possibly
greater than the 10% limit.
Celine read a letter from Mark
Robinson stating that he would work
to procure foundation grants if a
purchase and sale agreement on
the Locke property can be completed soon.
Celine feels we should actually
solicit funds for the Locke
property despite having no purchase
and sales agreement at this
frequent visitors.ity is to send
out fundraising letters to
into the fundraising presentation,
and how we could get thated
concept prepared visually by an
advertising company, university,
or high school student.
Fred reported on the Community
Preservation Act passed by the
state recently.
Robin reported that Congressman
Delahunt would meet with us to
discuss the Land and Water
Conservation Federal legislation for
land preservation.
Discussed the pros and cons of a
fundraising letter and how to
target an appropriate audience.
David Guertin, Director of Public
Works, joined the committee to
discuss plans for mulching at the
Shankpainter property. Compost
is currently being screened for
that and other purposes. He
December although it could be later
if the compost becomes frozen
by then.
Motion to send letter from Mark
Robinson regarding the necessity
of completing a P & S on the
Locke property to Keith Bergman by
Robin Evans, seconded by Celine
Gandolfo, all in favor 4-0, Celine
Gandolfo, Fred Berger, Robin Evans,
Barbara Sullivan.
