Open Space Committee Meeting

October 7, 2005

Meeting called to order 12:05PM

I Meeting with Ray Wells/Well property

Ray considers parcel owned by the PTC 74 harry Kemp Way (13-2-34B) as a "major obstacle" to vision she has of park for town.

Encourages OSC to pursue obtaining land.

Theatre Co. has mtg 10/11. Is considering possible sale. Will research building potential and wetlands area. Assessed value 341,000$ To check legal implications of donation by Wells.Motion to explore acquisition f PTC land by Robin, second by Celine.

Unanimous.

Ray also wishes more publicity of her land as walking area and requests clean-up.

Her vision of park with name "Wellspace" that belongs to people in perpetuity. With natural trails, benches, fountain of recirculating water.

Her first request is to clean up area immediately. Inspection needed by committee.

Discussed PTC acquisition in context of other lands OSC considering for ATM.

II Shankpainter Update

Ron to propose OSC will stake parking area and pathway. Will

encourage DPW to begin work this fall.

III Property acquistion

Two lots on Shankpainter added to list of potential sites for ATM
