TOWN OF PROVINCETOWN, OPEN SPACE COMMITTEE

Minutes for January 16, 2002

The Meeting of January 16, 2002 was called to order in the Auditorium of Provincetown Town Hall, at 2:05 P. M. by Celine Gandolpho, Co-Chair. Also present were Robin Evans, Hatty Walker Fitts, Fred Berger and Miriam Collinson.

1) A motion was made by Robin Evans, seconded by Celine Gandolpho, to approve the minutes of January 2, 2002. All present voted aye.

2) There was a discussion about the wetlands in the Meadow Lands area of town. It was decided that the Committee should meet with members of the Provincetown Conservation Trust to review what they hold in the area, and what other sections have been designated wetland.

3) A motion was made by Hatty Walker Fitts, seconded by Miriam Collinson, to send a letter to the Planning Board, with copies to the Town Manager and Selectmen, regarding the Committee’s concern about rezoning the water district at site Y being turned over to the Town by the State. A copy would also be sent to MA Highway Commissioner Amorello at the State plus a copy of the memo from Keith Bergman re. “Landbank Component for Updated Fiscal Policy Plan”. Copies will be sent to the Planning Board and Selectmen as well. All present voted aye.

4) It was agreed that Fred Berger would write the Open Space Committee report for the Provincetown Annual Report. He will circulate it to the committee members by e-mail for any additions or corrections.

5) The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, January 30, 2002, at 2:00 PM.
