Minutes of Public Meeting January 23, 2008

Meeting was held at the Provincetown Town Hall, 260 Commercial St.

Members Present: Mick Rudd, Chair; Jim Cole, Secretary; Paul Benatti

Members Absent: Lyn Kratz

Others Present: Debbie DeJonker-Berry, Library Director

Call to Order: Mick Rudd called the meeting to order at 7:15pm

1. Public Statements: There were no public statements.

2. Landscaping Fund: For the time being, the donor wishes to remain anonymous.

MOTION: Jim Cole moved to accept a gift of $100,000 to the Landscaping Gift Fund as restricted and conditioned in a memo attached entitled "Capital Building Campaign Library Landscape--Dedicated Gift" pursuant to MGL Chapter 44 Section 53A and other enabling authority. Paul Benatti seconded the motion. There was no further discussion. The vote passed 3-0-0.

3. Other Business:

The Board adjourned the meeting at 7:25 to reconvene at the Selectmen's Budget Meeting at 7:30 in the Judge Welsh Meeting Room.

MOTION: Paul made a motion to thank the Board of Selectmen for their support for the Library's operating budget. Mick seconded. The vote passed 3-0-0.

The Board adjourned the meeting at 7:55 to reconvene again in the Caucus Room at Town Hall to briefly discuss the work on the Library boiler that will be performed tomorrow. The consensus was to wait until the work is done and also to ask Engineer Bruce MacRitchie to review the contractor's recommendation regarding the replacement of the anti-siphon valves.

Jim Cole motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:05pm
