Also present: Keith Bergman (Town Manager).

 

Town Manager thanked those present  for the opportunity to review together a draft list of affordable housing initiatives to consider for 2002.

 

Discussion of:

A.  Pursuing 2001 Home Rule Petitions:

·        House 4145 Affordable Housing Trust Fund

·        House 4144 Land Bank Amendments

·        Expenditure Plan for Affordable House Trust Fund

·        Affordable Housing Specialist  Job Description

·        Tax Title Properties  

B. New Legislative Initiatives for 2002

·       Substitute Community Preservation Act acceptance

     for Land Bank

·       Tax Exemption for rental properties used for

     affordable housing

·       Growth Management: Affordable units get built first

·       Barnstable’s Amnesty Program for illegal accessory apartments

·       Nantucket’s employer dormitory provisions

 

Principal Assessor Dana Faris is preparing an analysis which compares FMR rates with the Provincetown market, and to determine what the difference is.

 

Local letter writing campaign to Congress by Boards suggested.
