Meeting of the Local Provincetown Housing Partnership Meeting

Attendance; Barbara Sullivan, Michael Bunn, Tim Hazel, Arturo Alon, Scott campbell
 
(1) No public statements
 
(2) Old Business: Michael Bunn reported on the Town's consideration of an affordable housing coordinator. This
staff person would serve as a liaison between the LPHP and Town Hall. We reviewed the position's esponsiblities and concurred that this would be a valuable addition to town staffing. This concept and position would have to be voted on at our annual town meeting.
 
Report on on-going affordable units:
        Ken Weiss/White Pines: the letter written by Mr.Weiss to the LPHP was reviewed. After discussion, a motion was made by Tim Hazel and seconded by Mike Bunn that the "LPHP remain committed to the four approved units on Harry Kemp/White Pines." All members were in agreement.
 
    Ted Malone projects (35 and 32 Conwell and 40A Nelson): Mr. Malone's letter was reviewed and accepted.
 
    RonReil/West Vine Street: No communication has been received from Mr. Reil. A follow-up letter has been sent to Mr. Reil.
 
Lottery by Sanjo on Affordable Units; On Wednesday, September 20, 2000, at 6:00 p.m. a lottery for the
affordable units on Capt. Bertie's Way will be held. 18 applicants are qualified for the drawing.
 
Funding for Two CDC Affordable Units: On Tuesday, October 3, 2000 at 6:00 p.m. there will be a meeting
between the CDC and the LPHP on the funding of two affordable units on Nelson Avenue. Approximately $180,000 will be requested.On behalf of the CDC michael Bunn requested a letter of support for this concept.B. Sullivan made a motion/Tim Hazel seconded and all approved.
 
Community Preservation Act: Mike Bunn reported that Gov. Celluci has signed the CPA. This Act would allow up
to 3% of property taxes to be applied  to open space, affordable housing or historic preservation, Each town would set theri own rate. Town meeting would have to approve.
Next Meeting will be October 17th.
