Public: Arturo Alon
Meeting was called to order at 8:05
(1). No public Statements
(2). New Business: Michael Bunn introduced Arturo Alon, 12 B Howland
Street, to the Partnership members as a candidate to
become a new Partnership member. A discussion was held with Arturo
concerning the mission, goals and objectives of the
Partnership. After discussion, Arturo was nominated by Tim Hazel to
become a member and Scott Campbell seconded the
motion. All members voted in fover of the motion. After being sworn
in, Arturo will become a member of the LPHP.
Michael Bunn reported that a new committee has been created at Town
Hall to address housing issues. Members of the
committee are Keith Bergman, Dana Ferris, Michele and Judith Oset.
One area of interest to this committee is creation of a
Housing Trust Fund. Members of the LPHP have asked Michael Bunn to
ask that the LPHP be involved with this new committee.
Michael Bunn also reported that a tax abatement initiative for land
lords who are willing to rent units as affordable has been
sent to town counsel for review.
Members of the LPHP are concerned that we no longer have a liaison with
Town Hall and respectfully request that a liaison be
made. Notification of meetings are not being circulated to LPHP members.
(3). Old Business:Follow-up with all affordable housing developers needs
to be made. So, Barbara Sullivan is writing a letter to
Ron Reil on his unit at West Vine Street, Ted Malone with all his developments
including Nelson Avenue and Ken Weiss with his
Harry Kemp affordable building. Request will be made to all that a
notice of intent be sent to B.S. by our September meeting .
Copies of this letter will be sent to Judith Oset and Warren Alexander.
August meeting will be on August 15th at 8:00 a.m. at Grace Goveia Building.
