Meeting Minutes of

Thursday, December 14, 2006

Meeting Room A

Chair Gail Browne convened the meeting at 4:00 PM noting the following members present: Anita Berman, Gail Browne, Mary Ann Cabral, Olympia Ciliberto and Bill Schneider. Alternate Member Eleanora Irving was also present.

MOTION: Move to approve the minutes from November 15, 2006.

Motion by: Bill Schneider; Seconded by: Mary Ann Cabral Yea: 4 Nay: 0 Abstain: 1 (AB)

Chair Browne presented the requests from two upperclassmen that were recipients of scholarship awards. One request was from a graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and one was from a graduate with a GPA under 3.0.

MOTION: To award the upperclassman recipient of the John Anderson Francis Family Scholarship $1,250 to the graduates with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and to award the upperclassman recipient of the John Anderson Francis Family Scholarship $750 to the graduate with a GPA of under 3.0.

Motion by: Bill Schneider; Seconded by: Gail Browne; Yea: 4 Nay: 0 Abstain: 1 (MAC)

The Committee further discussed the past practice of processing scholarship applications and reviewed criteria presented to determine if a long-standing practice existed to award scholarships to Provincetown High School seniors who are non-residents of Provincetown and Truro.

A discussion ensued regarding the past practice of awarding scholarships to Provincetown High School seniors who were non-residents of Provincetown and Truro.

The Board agreed to reconvene next Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 4:00 PM.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:49 PM.
