Chair Gail Browne convened the meeting at 4:00 PM noting the following members present: Gail Browne, Mary Ann Cabral, Olympia Ciliberto and Bill Schneider.

Absent: Anita Berman and Alternate Member Eleanor Irving

Public comments included statements from Peter Grosso, Carol Martin, Phil Guardiano, Susan Lyman, Sam Trumbo Simie Maryles, Orion Hastroff, Lisa Perez, Mo Van Derek and Hillary Bach Davis.

Chair Gail Browne indicated the intent of the Board was to discuss the intent of the parties for clarification.

MOTION: Move to approve the minutes from June 8, 2006.

MOTION: To seek an opinion of Town Counsel for clarification of the phrase in the 1985 Awards Procedure document which states “To be eligible, students must attend Provincetown High School for the full student year, or must have attended at the full senior year at the Cape Cod Technical School and be students from Provincetown or Truro.”

MOTION: To request an answer from Town Counsel as to whether or not the two scholarships that were awarded to Provincetown High School graduates that were not residents of Provincetown or Truro sets a precedent.

MOTION: To request Town Counsel provide a clarification of paragraphs 3 and 4 of the judgment from Probate; specifically, a definition of who “the party” refers to (in paragraph 3) and a definition of paragraph 4.
