TOWN OF PROVINCETOWN
JOHN ANDERSON FRANCIS FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2005
Chairman Phil Gaudiano convened the meeting at 4:00 PM noting the following attendees: Anita Berman; Mary Ann Cabral; Lee Ciliberto; and Bill Schneider.
Members with an excused absence: Gail Browne.
The following are meeting minutes.
There were no public comments.
The Committee discussed the donations to
the Town’s Scholarship and Education funds and agreed to recommend to the Board
of Selectmen that the 2006 senior student with the highest grade point average
from either Provincetown High School or Cape Cod Regional Technical High
School, who is a resident of either Provincetown or Truro, be awarded a
scholarship from the Town’s Scholarship and Education Fund in an amount between
$1,000 and $2,000.
A new draft of the Captain Joseph F.
Oliver and John Anderson Francis Family Scholarship Application was circulated
for review and discussion at the next meeting.
The Committee met in Executive Session
at 4:20 PM to discuss the applications and the amounts to be allocated to each
student. The Committee agreed upon a
formula for allocation of remaining funds for 2005 to be distributed to current
college students who have been previously awarded scholarships as follows:

$500 per student who
submitted an application and met the qualifications; and
·
$500 per student who
maintained a grade point average of at least 3.0.
The Committee scheduled the next meeting
to be Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 4:00 PM.
MOTION: Move to adjourn the meeting.
Motion by: Mary Ann Cabral Seconded by: Bill Schneider Vote 5-0-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:30 PM.
