Minutes of the Insurance Advisory Meeting

Judge Welsh Meeting Room, Town Hall

Present: Doug Allen, Ray Duarte, John Fitzgerald, Doug Johnstone, James Meads, Brian Shea.

Absent: Bruce Miller, Susan Avellar.

Meeting called to order at 3:35 pm.

Overview and purpose of the Insurance Advisory Committee provided by John Fitzgerald. Role of Committee is to review changes to Health insurance benefit plans and make recommendations to the Town regarding changes and/or other issues related to health insurance provided to employees and retirees.

Committee discussed the role of Chair of the Committee.

Motion to elect John Fitzgerald as Chair of the Insurance Advisory Committee made by James Meads, seconded by Doug Allen. Passed unanimously 6-0-0.

Committee discussed employee benefits and related issues and the role of the committee in bringing those issues to the attention of the Town and employees, and how best to investigate and follow-through on potential health benefit alternatives. John Fitzgerald to provide information on cafeteria plans and dental insurance programs for initial review and discussion at the next committee meeting.

Committee decided to hold next meeting on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at 3:30 pm in Town Hall.

Doug Johnstone informed group of Employee Health Fair on Wednesday, April 30, 2003 with three sessions: 12 noon, 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm. Flyer to be attached to April 11^th paychecks with a special mailing to retirees.
