Barry for a Certificate to be issued
in accordance with the Provincetown Historic District Commission established
under the General By-Laws, Chapter 15 of the Town of
Carol Neal felt that they’ve
done a really good job as far as scale goes.
John Dowd felt it’s an appropriate addition to a small house.
Barbara Rushmore, an abutter,
said they have a very large lot and she feels it would be an improvement in the
neighborhood.
Motion: Accept the proposal as presented with the
possible exception of the shed dormer windows which may possibly be changed to
awning windows.

Application
by Robert Valois on behalf of Laura Rood for a Certificate to be issued in accordance with the
Provincetown Historic District Commission established under the General
By-Laws, Chapter 15 of the Town of
Robert Valois
presented the new plan to the HDC. The
reason for the plan is because there’s a lot of water damage from rain coming
in.
Laura Rood, the owner, said
her main concern was that in case of fire she couldn’t fit out the existing
window on the third floor. The window is
20” X 20” and code mandates an egress window be at least 20” X 24”. Matt Mulvey, the
Building Commissioner, explained how the window could be replaced with the
correct size and this should allay all the owner’s fears.
There was a great deal of
discussion and it was finally determined that the plan as presented did not
have the support of the Commissioners.
A letter from Bill Jones, one
of the other condo owners, was read in support of the revamp.
