Members present: Clo Tepper, Nathan Butera, Polly Burnell, Carol Neal, Marcene Marcoux and Eric Dray.

The work session was called to order by Carol Neal at 3:30 pm
M.J. King informed the board he is working to purchase 25-27 Bradford Street from napi Van Dereck. The board and Doug Taylor discussed some of the historic virtues of the site. Mr. King was advised that once he has a purchase and sale agreement he should file a complete application for review by the board.

Application by Neal Kimball on behalf of Vernon Brown for a Certificate to be issued in accordance with the Provincetown
Historic District Commission established under the General By-Laws, Chapter 15
of the Town of Provincetown. The
applicant seeks approval to add shed dormers and enclose an egress stairway on
the back of the structure; add doghouse dormers on the front; replace all
windows with insulated double hung; add and reconfigure layout of existing
windows; add two egress doors, all exterior doors to be replaced with
historically correct doors, remove vinyl siding and replace with cedar
clapboards, finish roof with architectural grade shingles at the property
located at 10 Washington Avenue, Provincetown, MA.
The applicant requested a continuance to October 19, 2005.

Application by John
DeSouza on behalf of Ron Reil for a Certificate to be issued in accordance
with the Provincetown Historic District Commission established under the
General By-Laws, Chapter 15 of the Town of Provincetown. The applicant seeks
approval to renovate two attached cottages to include new foundations,
roofline, windows and doors, and the addition of two dormers to the east side
at the property located at 9 Dyer
Street, Rear, Provincetown, MA.
Members sitting on the case are: Clo Tepper, Nathan Butera, Polly Burnell, and Eric Dray.
Discussion:
John DeSouza presented plans. Members and staff discussed the historic virtures of the buildings. It has been a residence since the 1930s. The current doors date back to the 1940s or earlier. The applicant wishes to increase the height by approximately 2’. The members reviewed all elevations and there was an extensive discussion regarding the windows throughout the property and retaining the “fabric” of the building(s).

To grant a certificate of compliance for the plans as presented with the following revisions/conditions to help retain the character of the building. (See attached decision).

Nay: 0 Abstain: Carol Neal (as she did not sit on the case previously)
