AGENDA

The meeting was called to order at 4:34 p.m.

Review/amend/approve minutes of 3-12-08 and 3-26-08

(March 26th was a no quorum meeting.)

Motion:  Approve the minutes of the March 12th meeting as written.

Motion:  Mel Cote       Seconded:  Phil Scholl      Vote:  3-0-0.

Advisory from Rex McKinsey

Rex advised that fixing the West End boat ramp would be better served if the Harbor Committee applied for grant money.  The repairs to the old one will cost about $50K and it will probably last for 10 years.  That will be the approximate span of time needed to go through the permitting process for a ramp in the neighborhood of the Provincetown Inn.

He also said that the Courtesy Float in front of the MPL will probably be finished by the end of June.

Unfinished Business

Waterways Application Nos. W07-2090-N – 47 Commercial Street

It was advised that this property must hook up to the sewer system and it was done.  The plans filed indicate that this has been done.

The license was issued on April 1, 2008 and will be recorded within 60 days from this date.

Waterways Application Nos. W96-8174-N – Chandler House Condominiums – 481 Commercial Street.

Phil Scholl said that he had sold a unit there and he thinks they’re on the sewer.

Waterways Application Nos. W96-8210-N – 63 Commercial Street Realty Trust. – Bill Dougal

A scheduled public hearing on this application will be held on April 29, 2008 with a public comments deadline scheduled for May 29, 2008.

Waterways Application Nos. W96-5407-N – 595 Commercial Street

This was a draft of special conditions that was revised on April 10, 2008.

Old Business:

Review 2005 Amendments to the 1999 Harbor Plan status

This subject, once again, was not touched upon.

New Business:

Discussion of Mass DPH Report, “Sanitary Survey of Ryder Street Beach

It was deemed to be one of the filthiest beaches on the Cape.  Mel wants to know if we have to notify anyone about the agreements that had been made regarding the cleaning of this section of beach?

Jerry feels the biggest hurdle is the ConCom - Rex thinks that we can get the ConCom on board for a cleaning machine and wondered about dropping down the size of the rake?  The discussion then took off having a mind of its own and became cyclical.  “If we only could buy the beach cleaning equipment with the Harbor Access Gift Fund monies, etc......................”

Any other business that shall properly come before the Committee

Rex updated everyone on the removal of the Chico-Jess.  The state has paid for its removal and Rex will oversee the project.

Adjournment happened at 5:02 p.m.

Next HC meeting: Wednesday, May 14 in Town Hall at 4:30 pm

Respectfully submitted,

Evelyn Rogers Gaudiano
